|Do the HF, HM, HC and HNT coupling models come with gasket?|
|The HC model comes with a gasket, but the other couplings do not and must be provided for separately. Toyox does not sell gaskets separately.|
|How are TOYORON and SUPERTOYORON different?|
|1.There are differences in the thickness, diameter, pressure resistance and length for some sizes. This means that the coupling or clamp may also differ depending on the hose size.
2.The TOYORON and SUPERTOYORON Hoses provide different levels of oil resistance, and are also of different colors, so choose between them according to the use environment. For details, refer to the standards chart.
|Does the TOYOCAP comply with the Food Sanitation Act?|
|Yes. It is made from polyethylene and is compliant with Japanese Food Sanitation Act Public Notice No. 201.|
|Does the TOYOCONNECTOR meet the EU RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances)?|
|Yes, it does.|
|Does the replaceable portion of the TOYOCONNECTOR have to be replaced each time the hose is reconnected?|
|For the TOYOCONNECTOR-TCB and -TCS, the rubber pack needs to be replaced each time. The inner fitting can be reused. The TCP model is intended primarily for single use, but as long as there is no damage, whitening, cracking or deformation, and the threads on the cap nut are not stripped, the rubber cap and inner fitting can be reused. With the TOYOCONNECTOR-TCSB, the sleeve set needs to be replaced each time the hose is connected.|
|Can a TOYOCONNECTOR be attached and removed multiple times?|
|The TOYOCONNECTOR series of products is fastened with a nut using a wrench, so they can be attached multiple times. Each time a connection is made, however, the rubber cap (sleeve) needs to be replaced. The TCP model should generally be used only once.|
|What is the guaranteed pressure for the TOYOCONNECTOR?|
|Please refer to the use pressure for hoses. TThe same hose pressure resistance applies to the compatible TOYOCONNECTOR as well.|
|Can the TOYOCONNECTOR be used with the TOYOFOODS, ECORON and TOYOFUSSO Hoses?|
|Only the TOYOCONNECTOR-TCSB can be used with those hoses. Please note that because this coupling has bumps on the inside surface, it is not appropriate for foods and other sanitary uses.

|It says that the TOYOSILICONE Hose is heat resistance. Is it fire resistance (flame retardant) as well?|
|No. It is neither fire resistance nor flame retardant.|
|Why is only the TOYOSILICONE-S 19.5 mm in diameter instead of 19 like the TOYOSILICONE?|
|To ensure smooth insert the generic barb into hose, we increased the size slightly for the TOYOSILICONE-S Hose.|
|What is the reinforcement material used in the TOYOFOODS-S? Will it rust?|
|It is a hard steel wire and is susceptible to rusting. Care must be taken to prevent the end of the hose coming into contact with fluids during use. Additionally, we recommend the TOYORING-F and TOYOSILICONE-P, which will not rust.|
|What kind of life do your hoses have?|
|The “life” of a hose means something different to each of our customers, and depends on use conditions, including the fluid, temperature, pressure and frequency of use. The answer therefore depends greatly on how you will use it. We are currently working on creating indexes for product life that we hope will be of use for general reference.|
|Does the minimum bend radius of the hose refer to the inner diameter or the outer diameter when the hose is bent?|
|It refers to a value measured from the hose to the center of the bend in the hose.

|Is it safe to assume that the smaller the minimum bend radius, the more flexible the hose will be?|
|No. While it is one measure of flexibility, it is not an absolute indicator. For example, while the bending radius increases in size from the TOYOSPRING to the TOYORON to the SUPERTOYORON, the level of flexibility is the opposite of what you'd expect. The flexibility is affected by the material used, the material thickness and the reinforcement construction, so we recommend referring to the bending data and product samples when selecting a hose.|
|Could you explain what the “No Torsion System,” or NTS®, is?|
|NTS® is short for “No Torsion System,” a technology developed in a partnership with FITT® of Italy with improved reinforcement weaving to prevent hose kinks due to twisting and to control thread unraveling and hose bursts. This effectively prevents coupling leaks and joint disconnections. NTS® is used in the TOYOSILICONE and ECORON Hoses.|
|Do you have data on the electrical conductivity of Toyox hoses?|
|Generally speaking, the conductivity of soft PVC hoses ranges from 10 to the -11th to -13th power /Ω・cm.
Silicone hoses generally range from 10 to the -15th to -16th power /Ω・cm.
|Do Toyox hoses comply with PFOS regulations?|
|The prohibition on use of PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonic acid) went into effect in the EU on June 27, 2008 (excluding certain minor uses as per Directive 2006/122/EC). Toyox hoses comply with that directive.|
|How can I order TOYOSILICONE Hoses with crimped coupling, and what quantities do they come in?|
|TOYOSILICONE Hoses with crimped coupling are produced to order. Production is executed based on the coupling type and the hose diameter, length and quantity desired.|
|Is it possible to buy hoses in longer lengths than listed?|
|Yes, depending on lead times and quantities, we do our best to provide custom lengths. Please note that prices may differ. Consult with your local dealer for details.|
|Is it possible to purchase hoses in shorter lengths than listed, and if so, is there a minimum length? Also, how does the pricing work for that?|
|Many of our dealers will cut hoses to the desired length. Please consult with your local dealer for available sizes and pricing.|
|Can the TOYOSILICONE Hose handle conveying steam?|
|No, the TOYOSILICONE is not designed for steam. The TOYOSILICONE Hose can handle up to 130° C and 0.2 MPa of pressure, but this should be limited to short periods of time for sterilization purposes, and continuous use should be avoided.|
|Can silicone oil be run through the TOYOSILICONE Hose?|
|This will not result in damage to the hose, though it may stick to the outside surface. We cannot, however, guarantee the TOYOSILICONE Hose for uses above 70° C.|
|Can sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) be run through the TOYOSILICONE Hose?|
|Solutions of sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) should generally not be run through the TOYOSILICONE Hose as it can cause degradation of the hose. For CIP (cleaning in place), however, a dilution of 2 to 3% may be used without problems. The TOYOSILICONE has even been used by a CIP equipment manufacturer. Even so, this will result in quicker degradation than using water or air.|
|Can chlorine be run through the TOYORON Hose?|
|No. We recommend the TOYOFUSSO Hose for use with chlorine.|
|Can gasoline be run through the TOYOFUSSO Hose?|
|No. Generally speaking, the TOYOFUSSO Hose should not be used for fuel oil. It may be noted that fluororesin is used in the innermost layer of the TOYOFUSSO Hose and is resistance to fuel oils such as gasoline, as well as toluene and another solvents. If fuel oil is to be used, we recommend grounding the hose with a metal wire to reduce static electricity. Before use, we request that you check with your local fire department as certain standards in the Fire Service Act apply to flammable fuel oils and solvents.|
|Can water at 80° C be run through the ROCK-Y hose?|
|The ROCK-Y hose is made of soft PVC specifically for air, and running hot water (80° C) through it will cause premature degradation. Do not use with hot water.|
|Can natural gas, liquefied petroleum (propane) gas and other flammable gases be run through Toyox soft PVC hoses?|
|No. Toyox hoses should not be used for flammable gases. Doing so may result in fires and extensive burning.|
|Can sodium hypochlorite be used in the TOYORON Hose?|
|At room temperature, a concentration of up to 5% can be used. Even so, this will lead to premature aging as compared to water use. We therefore recommend using the ECORON or TOYOFUSSO instead.|
|Can sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) be run through the TOYORON Hose?|
|We do not recommend doing so because that will lead to early degradation of the hose. After about a year of feeding sodium hydroxide, the hose will turn yellow and harden. After that, the hose will degrade further and become stiffer, and the inside of the hose will become brown. We therefore recommend using the ECORON or TOYOFUSSO Hose for more durability.|
|Can highly concentrated ozone water be run through the TOYORON Hose?|
|Yes, that is fine.|
|The certificate I received from the FDA was issued in Japanese by a Japanese examination agency. Is the certificate genuine?|
|Yes it is. Although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an American agency, a third-party agency certifies conformity to examination standards set by the FDA. Those certificates may be in languages other than English.|
|There are cells in the chemical resistance chart without values. What does that mean?|
|That means we did not have sufficient test data to make a determination. For example, for concentrations of hydrochloric acid and the like, if a rating of A+ was given for 20%, lower concentrations were not rated.|
|Can you help me select the size of a barb nipple coupling for a hose?。|
|For Toyox hoses, Toyox dedicated couplings are the best. If a genuine Toyox coupling is not provided , use a barb nipple available for purchase on the market. When selecting a barb nipple, ensure that it is appropriate for the size of the hose. It should not be used if it there is any damage or rust on the surface, and round the edges as much as possible before use.
